Growing Kids!

This week, I took Hailey to the pediatrician for her 7 year well child visit.  She turned 7 in January, but the doctors office doesn't like to bring healthy kids in during the winter cold and flu season.  So, they scheduled her for Spring.  The checkup went well.  Last night, I was looking at her growth charts - slightly below 50th percentile for height and just above 50th percentile for weight.

Then, I started to wonder where Pete would be on the charts.  He hasn't had a normal well child checkup since he was 18 months old and it has been almost a year since he has seen the Endocrinologist!  So, I went online and found a growth chart calculator and typed in his info.  Ok, I wasn't sure what to expect, but people always comment about what a big kid he is, when they findout he is only 5.  And he is bigger than most of the boys in Hailey's 1st grade class.  Well, Pete is indeed a big boy - 87th percentile for height and 92nd percentile for weight.  WOW, for a boy that stopped growing for a whole year while he was on treatment, he has certainly caught up and then some!

After that, I went online again and found a height predictor and typed in Jeff and my info along with Pete's and it calculated that Pete should be around 6' 2" when he is full grown.  Poor Hailey should only be around 5' 4" or 5' 5".  So, Pete will be the big little brother before we know it!
